Longer R4 chassis

If you are looking for parts for old Renault models, a visit to the Melun Retro Passion website is recommended. The company has been supplying parts for various models for decades. The site is available in French, English and Spanish and most products are shipped.

A few years ago, the company received quality approval from Renault for the new chassis for the R4. The range has since been extended to include the chassis for the longer Renault 4 F6. Chassis for the Rodeo and the shortened JP4 are also available from Melun. Transport was arranged by mutual agreement.

Fresh delivery

This is a nice photo of the Nogentais garage, named after the town where this highly decorated Renault dealer is located: Nogent-sur-Seine.

In this photo, no doubt staged by the photographer, it appears that a customer has just taken delivery of his beautiful new Renault Viva Grand Sport Coupé and that the gentleman in question is about to drive off after receiving the final instructions. On the right is the same model, but as a saloon with a dealer's licence plate.

Renault has made a good start with the launch of the new Renault 5 E-Tech electric. Now it is up to the world to react.

Les Automobiles Galivel is a multi-brand dealership in Rennes and the area north of the city. The group also includes a Renault dealership.

Starting number

They have created stickers as a tribute to the Renault 5 Turbo that won the Tour de Corse in 1982 with the Ragnotti/Andrié team. The yellow, white and black colour scheme is very recognisable, except that the starting number is now 5 instead of 7. Two black areas in the middle of the rear doors indicate the air intakes of the Renault 5 Turbo. The air intake on the bonnet is also represented by stickers. This is a car that is sure to attract attention.

Renault Trucks in the past

The accompanying photo may look like a scrap yard, but this is clearly a Renault van and truck dealership from the late 1930s.

The lettering on the large breakdown lorry makes it clear that this is the Renault dealership in Lyon. On the left and right of the photo are a large number of Renaults from the twenties and thirties. On the front right is a Renault AFK, the heaviest type of truck used by Borel Frères, a Vinay haulage company founded in 1939, which dates this photo fairly accurately. Next to it is a model from the twenties with the diamond-shaped logo. The lorry is an ABF, the first Renault with the engine in the cab and a seat for the driver and passenger on either side. The lorry on the left is a lighter model from the mid-thirties.
