The dawn of the V6

In early 1975, Renault launched its first post-war six-cylinder, the 30 TS. The car had a new 2.7-litre engine developed in partnership with Peugeot and Volvo (PRV). After its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show, the real introduction to the press, dealers and customers began. Here is an example of the first series, recognisable by the special door handles and fuel filler cap. This car was photographed in the Chapelle Saint-Sixte d'Eygalières in the 13th arrondissement (Bouches-du-Rhône), just below the town of Cavaillon. The budding leaves on the trees give a good indication of the time, it is early spring and the Renault 30 TS has a whole car life ahead of it.
