Renault has reason to celebrate. Never before have so many new models been launched almost simultaneously. Parallel to all this news, there are also links to the past. And that appeals to the true enthusiast.
The biggest party was the public unveiling of the new Renault 5 on 23 April in the grounds of the famous Centre Pompidou in Paris. Many Renault people from all walks of life attended, including Luca de Meo and Jean-Dominique Senard. No expense was spared.
Nearly 300 dancers, preceded by three original Renault 5s from the factory collection, drew the attention of the guests and the public to the main protagonist of the show: the new all-electric Renault 5. Funnily enough, the introductory colours of yellow, green and dark blue were the same as those of the old 5s.
Accompanied by an equally musical spectacle, the new 5s made their appearance and performed a real dance of joy on the large site. It shows how Renault has recovered since the start of Renolution and has become successful again in almost all areas in a very short time. Sometimes the simplest solution seems to be to change the people.
I notice it myself in my contacts, which have become much quicker and more direct. Everyone seems to be pulling in the same direction, and they share that in a very warm way. Perhaps that is the greatest benefit of Renolution...
