In 3 inches, the Renault Austral had been available for a few months, but now the 1/43 version is also released in Bleu Iron (7717300541) and in Gris Schiste Satin as Esprit Alpine (7711949839) at the Renault dealer and directly at Norev in Rouge Flamme (Esprit Alpine) and Gris Schiste in the normal version.
After the appearance of the 1:18 Renault 4 F4 in dealer livery for passenger cars (yellow) and tractors (green), it was inevitable that Solido would also bring a version in red from Véhicules Industriels. Pity only that the lettering is not quite correct.
The 1:18 Twingo series has been further expanded at Solido with the 1993 Blue Outremer. The brand can, of course, continue to build on the Twingo theme in abundance, so this jubilee model will certainly make more frequent appearances on these pages.
What there is also endless variation on is the Alpine A110, which has not only been available for a long time, but has participated in so many rallies and races that Solido in 1:18 can continue for some time to come. With this 1600 S in the obligatory Alpine blue, Darniche/Mahé took part in the 1972 Monte Carlo rallye.
We already know it, some will say, the 1968 Estafette Assistance Course Renault in the series Véhicles d'assistance Rallye. True, but those who have missed out on models can now visit Altaya in Belgium, as the series has started new there.
This is an in-buyer from Otto, the Renault Clio R.S. Gordini. This third-generation Clio had already appeared in other variants. But Otto has made it work again with the right wheels partly painted in blue, the white mirrors but not the letters G on the double white stripe.
The Renault 21 Super Production has appeared at Otto before, but this silver-grey presentation version with yellow/white bar and number 21 is new. In 1987, the Supertouring championship emerged in France. Renault decided to participate in it from the outset. With Jean-Ragnotti behind the wheel, the first season became an instant success.
Every month, Norev releases interesting news. Recently, for instance, a funny set with the four first colours of the Twingo in 1:43 was offered in a modest edition of 200 pieces. It was promptly sold out. Meanwhile, those colours are also coming on the market separately.
The number of different versions of the Renault 5 keeps growing. This is one of the latest, a Renault 5 Copa, the Spanish counterpart of the 5 Alpine. This model is instantly recognisable by the matte black bonnet as if they forgot to paint it. This version has Amil wheels (1:43).
The Renault Alaskan Ice Edition was also delivered in Europe just before the four-door pick-up was dropped from the delivery programme. Incidentally, this model is still in full production for other countries around the world. This edition includes a black roof and wheel rims and special striping.
The 1:43 Renault Mégane E-Tech has been around for a while. Until now, Norev made the miniature only with the yellow-gold blades, but now versions without them can also be ordered, as here in Rouge Flamme.
Norev has revived the JetCar name and under that name supplies 1:43 miniatures in a relatively simple version at an attractive price. This is the Renault 5 GT Turbo phase II available in red and white.
A variation is the Renault Arkana E-Tech engineered which is immediately recognisable by the yellow-gold blade and strip at the bottom of the doors.
