Evening in Juan les Pins, obviously in the tourist season because of the crowds. Apart from a few other models, the Renault Dauphine is very popular with the nightlife crowd. Or is it just the bar-owners who all drive a Dauphine?
The Renault 4 is most prominent on this map, but it is the bright orange R6 that attracts attention, while directly behind it another R15 is parked that is hardly noticeable because of its colour beauty. The spectacle took place in Saint Nazaire (Rousillon).
A special card in several respects. Here we are in the Breton department of Finistere, in the town of Morlaix on the Place de Viarmes, which is dominated by the old bridge that seems to go over the town. On the square a nice mix of pre and post war cars with a Renault 4 CV and six cylinder Viva Grand Sport!
This is Six Fours Les Plages, although this image does not immediately suggest that we are here directly at the sea. And that's right, the centre is situated a bit more inland in the vicinity of Toulon. Here too, the presence of Renault is immediately apparent.
The austere post-war buildings already indicate that this scene must have been shot in northern France, in this case Maubeuge. The originally black-and-white photograph has been imaginatively coloured in with a baby-blue 4CV in the foreground and Dauphine right behind it.
Not only Renault passenger cars on old postcards. Renault Motoculture issued several in its history, such as this vineyard tractor that ventures briefly into the village.
