Duster with a listening ear

Dacia listens to its customers because the changes to the revamped Duster are for the most part the result of feedback from users. On the road with the automatic and LPG version.

Flood

A lot changes at Dacia. The brand confirms this with a new logo and a flood of new models. In one year, the Sandero, Logan, Spring, revamped Duster and the Jogger. In 2024 a larger model will follow in the footsteps of the Bigster concept.

As mentioned, Dacia listens carefully to its customers' comments. They think the look of their car is successful so this means that it has not been tampered with. The external differences are therefore details: a slightly modified grille, the LED headlights with Y-shaped arrangement, the same detailing in the rear lights and black details at the bottom of the bumper and the roof racks. The tailgate spoiler is completely new.

Different upholstery

The changes to the interior were also the result of customer requests. For example, the Duster has a new steering wheel with various control buttons, different upholstery on the seats, higher and at the same time narrower headrests, a sliding storage tray between the front seats and two USB sockets for the rear passengers. There are also two USB ports in the front. The original connection on the side of the navigation screen has disappeared. This made it possible to install a new, larger screen version, just like in the Sandero. This system comes with Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

4x4 monitor

Depending on the version, this central screen also houses the 4x4 monitor, which has been expanded in terms of possibilities. During a brief off-road introduction it became clear that the lateral slope and climbing angle can be displayed. The Duster can be equipped with as many as four cameras to provide a 360° view around the car on the monitor.

LPG version

Petrol drivers have a choice between the TCe 90 three-cylinder and the four-cylinder TCe 130 and 150. The latter is available with 4WD or an automatic. The availability of a petrol-powered Duster with an automatic transmission satisfies a great need. The automatic transmission can only be combined with the highest trim level. There is also the 100 hp 3 cylinder with LPG. A larger tank increases the total range. New for this version is that the button to switch to LPG is much better hidden and all info about tank filling and range are integrated in the dashboard. Finally, one diesel remains on the programme, the dCi 115.

CO2 emissions

During the fine-tuning of the Duster, the engineers also managed to reduce CO2 emissions to 6 g/km. This is achieved by using different tyres, new wheel bearings, LED lighting and the roof spoiler. Of course, a refreshed model also includes new alloy wheels and different colours.

In the automatic version, the 1.3 litre four-cylinder is coupled to an EDC-6 gearbox, which is perfectly at home in this popular model. Both components have proven their worth for some time now. Especially private buyers who frequently tow a caravan on the road have been waiting for this specific version. By the way, the petrol engine with automatic transmission was already available before this facelift. However, for the average Duster buyer the 100 bhp 3 cylinder with LPG more than suffices. The car performs sufficiently smoothly and above all it consumes favourably on an affordable fuel.

During the presentation Dacia showed a Duster Extreme in a specific grey colour Gris Urban with orange details and black wheels. Expect to see this variant in the course of 2022.
