In this column we take a look at unusual Renault products.
In January 1993, the very first generation of Renault Twingo was launched on the Spanish island of Lanzarote. The cheerful colours contrasted very well against the background of the dark volcanic landscape. These colours also played an important role in the communication and numerous gadgets that Renault had devised for the model. The journalists present found a copy of Solido's 1:43 miniature model, a welcome card and an original Twingo key ring in their hotel room as a souvenir. This consists of a heavy metal ball with the name Twingo engraved on it. Of course this gem was available in the four basic colours of the cheerful three-door model. More than a quarter of a century later, the key rings are a highly sought-after item for Twingo lovers who prefer to equip their car with all imaginable accessories and gadgets.
