Charming
French

In this case it is not known in which French city this charming picture was probably taken just before the Second World War. In the foreground is a Renault Vivaquatre while a smaller four cylinder (Celtaquatre or Primaquatre) is approaching. By colouring in the original black and white photo the image gets extra atmosphere.

Crowded
traffic

Celebrities from all over the world love to show themselves on the prestigious Promenade des Anglais in southern French Nice. Here a glimpse of the early seventies already abundant traffic in front of the famous Negresco hotel. We do spot a Renault 8, 4 and Caravelle.

High
Col

Many who once drove the Col de la Schlucht in the Vosges will have done so under summery conditions. This Renault Domaine passes this Col at an altitude of 1,159 metres entirely in a white world.

Disappeared
shops

Saint Gérand le Puy is a village located in the Allier (Auvergne). We are guests here on the square in the heart of the village where this scene took place in the second half of the sixties. Most striking is the blue SAVIEM from the J-series on the far right. The yellow R4 Fourgonnette of the French Post attracts attention in the centre and stands in front of a grey Frégate. The photo was taken from the forecourt of the town hall, of which this same fence is still part. In the current situation, the shops in the background have disappeared.

Special
spectacle

A special spectacle we see here in the French town of Bar le Duc in front of the building in which the Préfecture is located. It seems as if the French Renault club organised a meeting there. But because this postcard dates from the second half of the seventies, the presence of the 16, 6 and 5 can quickly be explained. We consider the tuned 4CV only as a coincidence.

Busy
place

The Place de la Libération in Villard de Lans (Isère) is a busy place. This place lies high and dry at 1,043 meters in the Rhône-Alpes. A closer look at this postcard reveals a few Dauphines.
