The family of Renault lovers in the world is huge. Fans are everywhere, not only in France and the rest of Europe but also in America, China, Japan and Australia. Losange Magazine has always aimed to reach the real fans but language is a limitation. That's why I'm very proud to be able to announce a major family expansion.
From the very beginning in 2007, I have tried to bring together as many Renault facets as possible but with a magazine solely in Dutch, this is only possible to a limited extent. However, since the launch of the digital version on 1 May 2018, the range has grown enormously and up to now Losange Magazine has been available on the internet in French, English and Dutch. It reaches a large part of the world and, of course, there are other languages spoken by Renault fans.
With that in mind, during a comfortable ride behind the wheel of my Vel Satis, I started thinking about how to reach these people. The solution is simple, publishing Losange Magazine in even more languages, but translation is expensive and budgets are far from endless. If you're not rich, you have to be smart and fortunately nowadays there are better and better ways of translating texts by computer. This does not immediately result in a ready-to-read article in another language but it is an excellent basis for tinkering with by so-called 'native speakers'.
It turns out that this works well in practice as I made an appeal via Facebook to Renault fans who would be willing to contribute to the growth of Losange Magazine. To my great surprise I received enough responses to expand the Losange Magazine family to include Spanish and German starting from this digital edition.
One wonders how far you should go with this as there are many other important languages such as Russian, Japanese, Chinese..... I even got a response from an employee of Renault Turkey who wanted to roll up his sleeves. My next aim is to publish a Portuguese version in the near future so that Losange Magazine can also be read in Brazil, which is so large and important for Renault. I get questioned regularly about printed editions in other languages and even though the world is moving more and more towards digital format, fans of classic Renaults may prefer to have paper in their hands. Who knows...
