Each country chose its own theme for the introduction campaign of the Renault 4. This leaflet from Denmark already gives good advice on the cover for those who choose with common sense.
If you open the brochure, you will see many other phrases: "The most versatile family car of the century", illustrated by a family having a nice picnic. The two benches are outside the car, only the youngest child sits in the stroller in the cargo space. High, safe and within the parents' field of vision. That the new Renault 4 is also suitable for business use is shown on the same pages at the top right. Father in his suit with the text 'daily quick worker bee'. It is up to the reader to decide whether this applies to the man or his car.
NO MORE LUBRICATION
At the bottom of the page the known (technical) advantages of the Renault 4 are listed:
No more lubrication, no more filling up with water or antifreeze, and the family members get all the space they've missed so far.
ROLL PATERNS
The noble character of the Renault 4 is then conveyed to the reader with the text 'offers much, demands little'. The family has arrived at a holiday home. Father opens the front door with the badminton rackets under his arm, mother is still laughing happily with her daughter close to the unloaded holiday luggage, while the son is carrying his own suitcase inside. Funny that the message around the new Renault is partly illustrated with drawings, partly with photos. The next page in the brochure shows that the confirmation of roll patterns didn't hurt anyone in the early sixties. The back seat of the car has been taken out again. Father and son are sitting there, fishing, while mother and daughter are preparing the picnic in the background.
Three pictures at the bottom of those two pages show the versatility of the car. The Renault 4 is used for hunting, is used on the farm, but also transports four chicly dressed people to a theatre performance or concert with the greatest of ease. On the back page to conclude: 'get more out of your life'.
