If the above model cars look familiar, then that's right. Solido released the Renault Dauphine/Ondine, R6 TL, three-door R11 Turbo and the Renault 17 TS Découvrable, but for that they used the existing moulds from Ixo.

The Renault 4 newsstand range is growing every two weeks with a new miniature. This time we'll show you a selection. The first one is a 1978 Renault 4 GTL, which was happily stickered for a campaign by advertising agency Publicis at the time. The real car is still owned by Renault Classic and is in an excellent, new and driving condition.
The same goes for the Renault 4F4 from EDF/GDF, the French state-owned electricity and gas company. From the 1960s to the 1990s, these cars were used by hundreds of people on the road network to provide service wherever necessary. The blue colour is typical for the company.
In 1965 a number of teams with Renaults 4 drove a monster tour from Tierra del Fuego in South America to Alaska. This is one of the two Renault Classic cars that are unrestored.

Argentineans

Renault has been represented in Argentina for a long time. Numerous models have been made locally and this is still the case in 2019. In the past, many Renaults have been adapted to the local needs and requirements, resulting in models that differ from those we know in Europe. Some cars are also built much longer. Examples from the Argentinean newsstand series are these three that recently appeared. On the far left is the Renault Fuego GTA Max. When the production of the coupé in Europe stopped, it continued in Argentina for years and the car even got a facelift.
The Renault 9 was popular in South America and therefore the model was produced a bit longer. This is a 1:43 miniature of phase II.
The Torino coupé was already present on these pages. But now there is a version from the last series with the Renault logo on the radiator grille.

Solido expands

Under the wings of OTTO, the French Solido seems to have risen from the ashes. In the 1:18 series new models keep coming out. And that will continue for a while to come. In 1:18 Solido announces the first generation Twingo and the new Dacia Duster. Recently the Renault 4F4 has been released in this large scale. You can choose between a Renault service car or a neutral, beige version. A French post car will also be arriving soon. The range of variants of the Renault 5 Turbo is still growing, because showcase space may be freed up for this car with which Alain Prost drove the Rally du Var in 1982. The Marlboro stickers had to be applied by the buyer himself.
The Solido Alpine A310 V6 GT was already known in red and white, but can now also be bought in Alpine blue.

New brand

At the toy fair in Neuremberg, Germany, a Renault Magnum was announced in 1:18 with steering wheels and opening doors. It would appear as Solido. But OTTO has created a new brand for it: Z Models. And we're definitely going to hear more about it in the future. Two OTTO models have been re-released, the 1:12 5 Turbo now in blue and a red version of the Alpine A310 V6 GT.
The Renault Utilitaires series continues to surprise every time. The Renault AGC2 is a sweetheart. The real car was featured in Losange Magazine two years ago and that led the editors of the series to make a miniature of it. Furthermore a Galion garbage truck, a B70 4x4 of the EDF/GDF and a Renault Estafette Minibus with the characteristic roof windows were published. The Colorale with square superstructure of Huiles Renault is very original and that goes also for the SAVIEM SG4.

There are newsstand series in many countries, including Spain. The 1:24 series regularly includes Renaults such as this FASA Renault 4, the four-door Renault Siete, the Spanish version of the Alpine A110 and the Renault 8 TS portrayed in this issue of Losange Magazine.

News from Otto

As usual, OTTO knows how to bring the necessary news. Years ago the second generation Renault 9 Turbo appeared in white, now it's the turn of the first generation from 1985. OTTO opted for silver-grey. If you compare this miniature with the real car in this issue, you'll see that it's all right down to the smallest details.
OTTO, however, received comments on the Clio 16V or 16S because of the size of the wheels used. They seem to be at least one inch too big.  And that's a pity because this fast Clio looks beautiful. Just like the very first miniature of OTTO, the Clio Williams, this is a phase II version.
The third novelty is the Renault 21 Turbo which in this Group N version participated in the Tour de Corse in 1988 with Philippe Bougalski at the wheel. On the bonnet is the slogan Vive le Sport.

Arrived

To conclude, there are a number of different new Renault miniatures. To start in 1:24 with a Renault 12 TS Phase II from the French kiosk series. This model originates from the similar car that appeared in blue in the Spanish series, but with the double headlights and other seats. The makers failed to modify the wheels. The Fergat wheels have never been under a French Renault 12 TS phase II sedan.
In the great bus series, a variation has appeared on the TN4H, now with a closed rear with a side entrance.
OTTO brings a second variant of the beautiful combination of a Renault Master with a raised roof and a double-axle car ambulance behind it. The first version was released in Tour de Corse trim, this second version with a Clio with start number 15 took part in this form during the Monte Carlo Rally in 1995.
