Important
buildings

The town of Plessis Chenet is situated south of Paris in the Essonne department. The photographer has been able to show some important buildings on this card: the city hall, the school and the post office. Question remains who owned the blue Renault 4 CV as well as the red Citroën DS.

1285
acres

The Barrage de Pannecière near Chaumard is a reservoir located in the department of Nièvre (Burgundy). The 1285 acres large construction was made between 1937 and 1949. Despite these massive distances, the lake came into being to prevent Paris from flooding. Many tourists appear to pay the reservoir a visit by Renaults. We can see a Frégate, a Juvaquatre and a 4 CV décapotable.

Rowing
match

Here we are in Palavas les Flots, a village south of Montpellier right on the French south coast. Hordes of interested people have gathered on the quays to watch a rowing match. We prefer to study the parked 4 CV and Dauphine at the bottom of the picture, though.

One
cyclist

Montbrevel and Bresse, located east of Mâcon, oozes a grand ease. The village’s Grande rue shows just one cyclist while on the left at the square we see a Renault Juvaquatre van or break. If you look at the current situation in the same place, you will find that the majority of the facades have remained identical, while the undersides of all buildings have been much modernized.

Juvaquatre
bright blue

An archetypical picture to fall in love with. We are in Verneuil sur Avre here, a village in the Eure department. This atmospheric coloured card shows a Juvaquatre in a very bright hue of baby blue. It’s a two-door version, so built in the late-1930s. The magnificent building is the Maison de la Renaissance, which of course can still be admired in a marvellous state on the Rue de la Madeleine.

From great
distance

The marque in which dealer Gambetta on the eponymous Avenue Gambetta in Joigny specializes, can be seen from great distance. This is an archetypical garage of the 1920s / 1930s. The premises now house a number of shops.
