On the eve of the Paris Motor Show, Renault presented its plans to electrify its programme.
Next year, an all-electric compact Renault will be launched in China. The concept version is this K-ZE, a five-door model based on the Renault Kwid. We do not yet know at this stage if and when this car will arrive in Europe. China is the fastest growing market for electric cars. The final version of the K-ZE will have a range of 250 kilometres in NEDC. The battery can be recharged both at home via a normal power socket and at public charging points.
IN HOUSE
Renault is also announcing a hybrid version of the new Clio, which will be unveiled in 2019, and plug-in hybrids based on the new Captur and Mégane. Renault develops these techniques entirely in-house. These cars will be available in 2020. They are an important step towards meeting the new and stricter emission standards on the European market.
The summer issue of Losange Magazine saw a competition which gave readers the chance to win a CoolVaria cheese climate cabinet.
The winners were drawn from a number of entries from far and wide. The beautiful book ‘Un Tour de France en 4CV’ goes to Luc Meurant of Isle (F) who mentioned Livarot as his favourite type of cheese. The cheese Mont d'Or was the favourite of Liesbeth de Groot of Assen (NL). She, too, will receive a copy of this beautiful book.
But first prize, a CoolVaria cheese climate cabinet, goes to Nel de Graaff (NL). She managed to come up with a nice link between cheese and Renault. In the comic strip of Spirou and Fantasio (Spirou in French) a Renault Galion can be seen, which is built up with cooling installation and the fictional cheese brand La Vache Rieuse on its sides, this is of course a wink to La vache qui rit. Nel even sent us a picture of the drawing from the album ‘Spirou le voyageur du Mésozoique’. We hope you enjoy this wonderful prize, made available by CoolVaria.
On Tuesday October, 9, a grand parade in front of a number of locations playing a role in Renault’s history of the past 120 years, Renault Classic closed the brand’s anniversary celebrations.
A large delegation of Renault Classic visited the old factory in Billancourt, the current headquarters, the showroom on the Champs Elysées, the Grand Palais ... The motoring fleet was accompanied by a number of current concept models to complete the image of 120 years of Renault.
