CEMS International Internships provide students with a real-life professional learning experience of integrating an organisation’s culture and processes. The main objective is to turn academic and theoretical knowledge into a professional, multi-cultural experience.
This internship can take place in one of three moments:
The Block Seminar is offered in the beginning of the 1st semester and is designed to be a cultural and academic intense week. At Nova SBE, the Block Seminars are typically around a subject such as "Innovation in a World of Change." Corporate Partners present challenges for student teams to explore.
The Global Citizenship Seminar is offered at the beginning of the 2nd semester. Students are immersed for two days to deal with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals' challenges, with the CEMS Corporate and Social Partners' involvement.
Skill Seminars are practical skills training workshops (usually half-day) brought to students by the school and corporate partners.
Examples of recent Skill Seminars at Nova SBE:
Business Projects are a mandatory component of the curriculum, and each CEMS School offers Business Projects over the CEMS MIM second year/second semester. They are designed as a real-life learning experience for international teams of students (four to six) who solve a real business problem, tutored by a company representative and a professor, in parallel. The Business Projects engage at least half the students’ workload during the second semester (From February to May at Nova SBE).
Examples of recent Business Projects at Nova SBE:
The CEMS Alumni Association (CAA) aims to promote the CEMS MIM and the CEMS experience. It creates and maintains friendly, lasting contacts among alumni, and provides a professional network and opportunities for its members.
In Portugal, alumni can join the events organized by the CEMS Alumni Association Portugal.
The CEMS MIM was created as a program aiming to bring the corporate world to the centre of the CEMS learning experience. CEMS Corporate Partners have a unique interaction with students from the selection process to interactive training sessions.
CEMS is committed to an ethical and responsible approach to management education with an important focus on sustainability. All CEMS stakeholders benefit from the global discussion that comes from social partners and students working together.
CEMS students at Nova SBE benefit from exclusive personalized guidance to help them realize their professional goals. CEMS at Nova SBE offers five Coaching Tracks:
