Entrepreneurship or Innovation: Select your journey

Entrepreneurship and innovation are two interrelated concepts, but they also have important differences in terms of practices, frameworks, and mindsets. In order to support different interests and talents among our students, students in the second and third semesters will be able to focus either on Entrepreneurship or Innovation.

The main differentiator will be the mandatory core course "Entrepreneurship Project" - where 2 sections will be offered one focusing on entrepreneurship, the other on innovation - and the Work Project.

At the end of the first semester, students will choose (based on the recommendation of their professors and advisors) whether they want to focus on entrepreneurship or innovation. These two tracks leverage Nova SBE's resources - the Haddad Entrepreneurship Institute and the Innovation Ecosystem and provide students opportunities to explore ways to create impact (social and/or environmental).

Students who want to follow the Entrepreneurship Track, will either continue working on the project they developed during the first semester, or they will have to join the Entrepreneurship bootcamp (offered in January) to develop a new project. This choice will be based on the recommendation of their faculty and advisors.

Students who choose to follow the Innovation Track will have the possibility to either pilot their idea from the first semester (based on the recommendation of their professor and the Innovation Ecosystem team) in a company, or they will be able to work with innovation projects in partnership with companies in the Nova SBE ecosystem.

Within the Innovation Track, if students want to make significant difference in healthcare and well-being, there is the possibility of choosing the Health Innovation specialization, which leverages on medical scientific knowledge (lectured at Nova Medical School), value-based healthcare, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
