We are part of Smiths Metal Centres Ltd, a UK-based multi-metal and plastics stockholder, processor, and service provider located in Horsham, West Sussex, which is within easy reach of Kent, South Coast, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire.
We offer local material stock for the South-East of England, supported by a centralised warehouse in Biggleswade. We complement our alloy and plastic stock range with value-added services, including in-house processing and comprehensive metallurgical support via our UKAS-accredited testing laboratory.
Our group headquarters at Biggleswade, in Bedfordshire, includes a 100,000 sq. ft. facility holding a wide range of engineering raw materials in closer incremental sizes, including metric and imperial. While Smiths Horsham is one of Smiths Metal Centres Limited's UK service centres, the Group also has businesses specialising in motorsport, aerospace, and MRO.

Our Experience of Working With UKAEA:
Horsham Smiths Metals have a long history of supporting the various UKAEA departments with metal supply requests and have always tried to source the difficult and challenging-to-locate materials wherever possible. Last year our UKAS-accredited laboratory was able to identify the source of an issue with material used in a UKAEA process as carbon stringers were adversely affecting the machining and porosity of stainless steel 316 - another benefit of the levels of accredited support we are able to offer. Our relationships with UKAEA key personnel are built on trust and confidence in our being able to fully understand the material and use requirements and supply the best quality material appropriate to the individual requests, supported by the appropriate level of certification and supporting paperwork.
