SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) is a department within the division of Operations & Facilities. Quality is currently divided into 3 groups covering Quality Assurance, Management Systems and Supply Quality Assurance. With the growth of UKAEA business, the quality team has grown to satisfy both internal and external stakeholder's requirements.
The Quality group consists of highly skilled engineers with over 120 years experience within the following highly regulated sectors, Automotive, Aerospace, Medical & Precision Manufacturing.

In support of these goals, the Quality Group have the following aims and objectives:
Establish a Management System framework with effective processes for delivering customer requirements and creating a more sustainable organisational business performance
Maintain and strengthen the supply chain through a collaborative approach with our external partners to develop and embed the supplier quality assurance processes
Develop a culture of doing the right thing, first time, by promoting quality awareness for continual improvement across the organisation
The four key areas within our roadmap include People, Management Systems, Supplier Assurance, and Continual Improvement.
During 2021, the team have been reviewing and appraising current systems and documentation to support and strengthen future business requirements. Over the coming months the focus will turn to the next step within our roadmap for supplier assurance, more information to be covered within the next Supplier Event.
Our aim in 2022 is to support UKAEA business functions and selected supply chain partners for quality project deliverables following the PDCA cycle (Plan, Do, Check, Act).
